I'm picking all of the zucchini, summer squash, and cucumbers now. Early tomatoes, too. AND I'm finally starting in on the reconstruction of the raised beds. Fruit trees are heavy laden. The flower gardens are spectacular.

Trains are cool. While I don't have the pieces to build an entire train like this, I do have more than enough to do an engine justice. This is an old fashioned steam engine! We're using some Chinese hats and lanterns for accents. Check out the rotating steam stack. It's even got a conductor. LEGO MOC Steam Engine KU 0008 119 pieces Minifigure scale

    I want to use this wood and boards on my home, what are the exact name of these boards and where can I get them? 🙏

  • @dsbennett
    @dsbennett 3 дня назад

    I built one very much like this with scrap wood I got from construction sites. I used expensive screws that I got for free disassembling large pallets that sheds came in. Normal pallets gave me the side boards. I like the kindling shelf but I keep my kindling in large plastic tubs. The easiest kindling is sawing the planks off of pallets and splitting them with a hatchet into small sticks. Most of the wood I burn is from construction sites. I made up a "business card" that gives my contact info. I hand that to the bosses at the sites so they can call me when they are ready to have their scrap pile cleaned up.

    Wear's you dust mask when sanding? An hour and a half? From start to finish? OK. Is there UV protection in the stain. That cedar chair is worth a lot, nothing mass produced there..

    I love watching your garden tours. I'm struggling this year to overcome the hungry groundhogs and birds. They don't seem to want to share and I don't have enough room to plant lots of extras of everything! But I'm trying to just get more clever about making it harder for them! 😂

    Wish you could have tried this on normal compacted soil as yours is soooo loose that the weeds havent taken hold and are extremely easy to just pop up out from the soil

      Takes a little more elbow grease but way better than pulling. I just bought one, had two options at True Value and I went with the one that had a more heavy duty handle. Worth the $29 for the size yard I have

    I think 💜 is fun to try on a porch that is going to be replaced in two years. The grit on stairs is genius. I want to add extra glitter! This will be safer for my Mom's stairs, especially when there's melting snow and rain.

    Great job. On the small pieces pre-drill a pilot hole so the wood does not split. I am working with bevelled 6" pine clapboard siding for our garden shed. I save all the small pieces for bird houses. The sawdust from the miter saw goes in a bucket for compost. I save a bit also to mix with gorilla glue to do repairs in damaged or rotten wood. Good tip on priming the back side of the board - most also recommend putting furring strips first to make a little air gap between the shed wall and the siding to prevent moisture from collecting.

    • @ceeemm1901
      @ceeemm1901 13 дней назад

      Usually when most plants get cut just below the soil it's hard for them to grow back. but if they do, a couple more cuts will exhaust them. The roots become organic compost for the earth critters!

    Great video!! I'm having the same issue, except I'm still getting blocked without being able to raise to the max amount. Did you completely remove the washer and jesus clip on the opposite side? (Where the bent washer was) So right now I have both washers and clips on either side, the belt is tight, but it won't allow me to fully raise. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the "locking lever to the left" part? Any tips you could provide would be hugely appreciated!

    I’m in Minnesota and just bought a couple of baby jades plants in pots with rooting. Brought them home to put in my own pots. Two questions I have are: 1. When keeping them outside in the summer as little as they are, should they be in direct sunlight? 2. When transitioning them into indoors before winter - what’s a good tip to not stress them out too much? AND how to get sun light for them in our long winters indoors? (Okay, maybe that was 3 questions 😅)

    So after 6 years, I think we will have a bumper crop of berries. We were only getting a pint or 2 of raspberries for the first several seasons. Plus the blackberries have finally come to life. Looks like we will be getting quite a few of those as well. Herbs are going gangbusters and tomatoes are growing well too. Planted what were labeled as BUSH cukes, but ended up trellising them to grow vertical, as there is nothing BUSH-like about them. Other stuff is doing just ok for now. Hopefully the heatwave and plenty of water will bring everything else to life. Your place looks fantastic!
